Single Use Permit
Single Use Permit for Doing Business in Puerto Rico
The Single Use Permit is a permit for the start or continuation of the operation of a business, construction or activity, licenses, authorizations or certifications, which will be issued by the Permit Management Office, or the Autonomous Municipalities of Puerto Rico. The applicant must request to obtain the required licenses and certifications to complete the procedure. Depending on the licenses selected, additional information may be necessary to complete the application. The Sanitary License and Fire Prevention Certificate are included in the Single Use Permit by default.
Currently, the Single Use Permit for home use, renovations, or change of ownership will not require environmental compliance. A Single Use Permit must be renewed annually. Government fees start at $110.
Any person doing business in Puerto Rico must obtain the Merchant Registry Certificate, and municipal license, in addition to the applicable licenses and permits required by the Permits Management Office of Puerto Rico.
